quick question. What kind of angle constitutes a slant 6, or is it just the name of certain engines? Is my bmw m50 a slant 6?

This particular engine is know as the slant six.

Kinja'd!!!

It's like a v-12 that was cut in half.

I think its just more of term mopar used for marketing. I don't think there is a specific angle that makes it a slant 6. It's like how the early Hemis used the names Red Ram, Firedome etc or Chevy with its Ram Jet, Turbo Jet or Turbo Fire naming.

My best guess is an early mopar or off brand. The front fender looks like a Ford Model A but the cowl is off. Doesn't help the hoods up on it distorting the view

red ram and firedome sound epic. They should have stuck with those. "Yeah, I made sure to get a Firedome on my Red Ram. Gotta play it safe, ya know?"

You get to see plenty of that thing with a car cover on it. He should take more pics of the other side.

yeah, looking again I can safely say its not ford or Chevy due to the style if the rear fender so its probable a mopar of some kind pre 1935

As far as I can tell it's both.

Any I6 that is canted over to one side could be called a slant 6, but Chrysler specifically christened one of their engines 'Slant 6'.

So, both :)

Oh, and your M50 is a slant 6 as it's not vertical in the engine bay.
